چکیده
Abstract We report a case of 34-year-old woman who presented with chest pain, shortness breath, and dry cough 1 month duration. Contrast-enhanced computed tomography the revealed an enlarged tortuous right pulmonary vein that could not conclusively exclude arteriovenous malformation. Further evaluation digital subtraction angiography excluded malformation confirmed presence varix. Accordingly, patient was managed conservatively. This highlights need for catheter in diagnosis varix provides brief review literature on entity.

Primary angiosarcoma of pulmonary artery is a very rare lesion. We present a case of primary angiosarcoma that was initially misdiagnosed as a subacute massive pulmonary thromboembolism in a 30-year-old man. This rare disease is usually indistinguishable from acute or chronic thromboembolic disease of the pulmonary arteries. The clinical and radiological findings of pulmonary artery angiosarcom...
متن کاملA complex pulmonary vein varix -- diagnosis with ECG gated MDCT, MRI and invasive pulmonary angiography.
A case of an asymptomatic 32-year-old male with a complex congenital pulmonary vein varix is reported herein. Chest X-ray incidentally revealed a tubular opacity passing from the periphery of the left lingula to the mediastinum. ECG gated multidetector computed tomography showed the opacity to be a vessel emptying into the left atrium via the left superior pulmonary vein. In addition, a second ...

A 52-year old female was admitted for treatment of lung cancer in the right upper lobe. A left-sided serpentine opacity was incidentally detected and a pulmonary arterio-venous malformation was suspected (Fig. 1). However, pulmonary varix associated with an anomalous unilateral single pulmonary vein was diagnosed by imaging studies (Fig. 2, Supplementary Video 1). Supplementary material (Video ...
